As part of its bimonthly exhibition series, Nevada Humanities presents the exhibition Reminiscences: Susanne Forestieri Friends, Family, Showgirls, and Color at the Nevada Humanities Program Gallery.

Accomplished painter Susanne Forestieri focuses on the portrait, figurative, and abstract images, with subjects drawn from the artist's life, including showgirls, dancers, family, and the landscape. An influential Nevada artist, Forestieri's work and teaching have touched the community deeply with her expressive, diverse, and engaging works.

Forestieri was the recipient of the National Endowment for the Arts fellowship in 1996, and her works have been exibited widely in group and solo exhibitions.

"This exhibition of Suzanne's paintings brings iconic and intimate aspects of Nevada people and landscapes to light in very intriguing and surprising ways," says Christina Barr, Executive Director of Nevada Humanities. "We are thrilled to add Suzanne's perspective and voice to our exploration of the Nevada experience."

An Artist Reception and Talk will be held on Thursday, March 1, 2018, from 6:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m featuring the artist talk at 7:00 p.m. The event is open to the public and free of charge.

The Nevada Humanities Program Gallery is located in the Art Square Garden Courtyard downtown in the Las Vegas Arts District. The Nevada Humanities Program Gallery is open Monday through Friday, from 1 -- 5 p.m., and until 9 p.m. on Preview Thursdays and the first Friday of each month.
