Gov. Gibbons appoints Mary-Ellen McMullen to the board
Mary-Ellen McMullen, long-time friend and supporter of the humanities, has been appointed to the Nevada Humanities board by Governor Gibbons. She has extensive experience in government affairs and education and has served on numerous community advisory committees. She is the immediate past president of the University of Nevada, Reno Foundation. The Governor, as mandated by the authorizing legislation of the National Endowment of the Humanities, appoints twenty-five percent of the board. McMullen is Gov. Gibbons first appointment, and replaces Patricia Ferraro Klos, who resigned last summer. Nominations are publicly solicited for other positions on the board.
