Nevada Reads In Your Library—The Path of Traditional Publishing with Naseem Jamnia

  • Sparks Library 125 12th Street Sparks, NV, 89431 United States (map)

Many people have written books they would like to one day get published and see on the shelves of a bookstore. But what are the steps to doing so? What is a literary agent, or the difference between self, independent, and Big 5 publishing? What happens before and after the book deal? What are trade reviews, ARCs, and other industry terms? Join local author Naseem Jamnia in a discussion about traditional publishing, particularly in speculative fiction and kidlit, and their journey of publishing the critically acclaimed novella The Bruising of Qilwa, which was listed a 2022 Best of the Year by both Library Journal and Tor.com. A Q&A will follow the discussion.
