Nevada Humanities Literary Crawl

Join our growing community of volunteers and be part of northern Nevada’s annual celebration of literature and ideas.

The Nevada Humanities Literary Crawl returns on Saturday, September 13, 2025 with panel discussions, author readings, interactive activities, and performances at venues across California Avenue, Downtown Reno, and MidTown Reno. Events run approximately from 11:00 am to 7:00 pm.

Join our team of community volunteers and help us make this year’s event a success. We are seeking volunteer Stage Managers, Session Moderators, Survey Ambassadors, and Information Booth Greeters. Apply to become a volunteer by Wednesday, August 13.

Stage Managers

Stage Managers greet panelists at an assigned session, keep time during the session, and stay in contact with Nevada Humanities staff as needed to keep events running smoothly throughout the day. No public speaking required.

Session Moderators

Session Moderators meet with panelists before the event, introduce panelists at the assigned session, and help moderate a Q&A session with panelists. Public speaking required.

Survey Ambassadors

Survey Ambassadors distribute and collect printed surveys at different sessions throughout the day.

Information Booth Greeters

Information Booth Greeters provide attendees with helpful information about the event at the Nevada Humanities information booth at Lake Mansion, Arts for All Nevada.

Additional Information

  • Please note that all roles are unpaid volunteer positions.

  • Volunteers may be assigned according to need and availability; volunteer positions are not guaranteed.

  • Prior to the event, volunteers will be provided with opportunities for in-person or online training. In addition, Session Moderators will need to meet with panelists for their assigned session for a brief orientation before the event.

  • If you may require specific accommodations (e.g., wheelchair access), please include this information in your volunteer application.
