An Update from Nevada Humanities Regarding COVID-19

Dear Humanities Friends and Family,

As the challenges presented by COVID-19 (novel coronavirus) continue to evolve rapidly, Nevada Humanities’ top priority remains the health, safety, and well-being of our Nevada communities.

As you know we have taken measures to mitigate the risk of exposure to our humanities community. We are implementing the following action steps consistent with many of our peers across the country.

Nevada Humanities Programs and Events Now Offered Online

Due to the COVID-19 risk and the comfort level of our audiences and participants, Nevada Humanities has moved all of our programming online and in-person, planned public events are postponed indefinitely. We will evaluate this situation as it continues to evolve. We are encouraging grant recipients and program partners to make their own scheduling decisions, based on what is best for their communities. Know that we are committed to working with our partners to reschedule events whenever possible. Visit nevadahumanities.org for details about our upcoming virtual programs.

Nevada Humanities Program Gallery in Las Vegas and the Nevada Humanities Reno Office Remain Temporarily Closed to the Public and Staff Are Working Remotely

The Nevada Humanities Program Gallery in Las Vegas and the Nevada Humanities Reno office remain temporarily closed to the public. However, Nevada Humanities staff are working remotely and are still available to answer questions, respond to business inquiries, offer humanities assistance, and provide assistance to grantees. Please know that there may be a slight delay in response time. Email is the ideal way to communicate with Nevada Humanities staff. Staff emails and updates to our programs and events are on our website at nevadahumanities.org.

Please watch nevadahumanities.org, our social media outlets, and your email for alerts and information from Nevada Humanities.

Be safe, healthy, and well.

Warm wishes,

Christina Barr
Executive Director. Nevada Humanities
