To celebrate America 250 and the 5th anniversary of Sagebrush to Sandstone, the Humanities Center at Great Basin College and Nevada Humanities are teaming up for a creativity hike at the Powerhouse Trail in Lamoille Canyon. Using Joy Harjo’s American Sunrise and Nevada Humanities Sagebrush to Sandstone, leaders Katie Karnehm-Esh, Doug Clarke, and Christie Osborne will lead participants on a creative experience of nature and the difference between living on the land versus living with it. Participants will be able to pick the duration of their hike. Bring hiking boots, water, and either a journal, sketchbook, or your camera (or all of the above). Come ready to tap into your creativity and experience one of Nevada’s wild places in a new way.
This workshop is open to participants of all ages and skill levels.
Space for this event is limited and registration in advance is required.
