Around the Table

On July 4, 2026, our nation will commemorate and celebrate the 250th anniversary of the signing of the Declaration of Independence. As part of the nationwide celebration of America’s 250th, throughout 2026, Nevada Humanities is producing a series of programs that highlight food stories, histories, practices, and traditions from around the Silver State. These programs invite community members across Nevada to take part in intergenerational conversations to better understand our past, present, and future through the lens of expressive culture and foodways programming.

Around the Table programming is produced by Nevada Humanities as part of the national initiative By the People: Conversations Beyond 250, which is a series of community-driven programs created by humanities councils in collaboration with local partners, and was developed by the Federation of State Humanities Councils and the Smithsonian Center for Folklife and Cultural Heritage.
