Nevada Humanities presents Around the Table: Stories of Nevada Foodways, an exhibition celebrating the diverse food traditions and stories of the people of the Silver State. Around the Table: Stories of Nevada Foodways will be on display at the Nevada Humanities Program Gallery in Las Vegas (1017 S. 1st Street #190, Las Vegas) from June 4 to August 26, 2026. This exhibition is free and open to the public.
Around the Table: Stories of Nevada Foodways features stories about the food traditions of Nevadans as told through handmade, descriptive, illustrated recipe cards and zines. A zine is a small, handmade, self-published booklet or magazine that provides a hands-on, do-it-yourself way to share stories, artwork, poetry, and ideas. Around the Table: Stories of Nevada Foodways will display food-oriented zines and recipe cards created by everyday Nevadans from across the state that represent the diversity and meaning of Nevada’s family food traditions.
Around the Table: Stories of Nevada Foodways is part of Nevada Humanities’ Around the Table initiative of free, public humanities-based programming in commemoration of the 250th anniversary of the signing of the Declaration of Independence. Throughout 2026, Nevada Humanities invites Nevadans to share and celebrate their diverse food traditions through a series of public events and creative reflections that explore Nevada foodways, food traditions, and expressive culture across the Silver State.
Nevada Humanities will host a reception for Around the Table: Stories of Nevada Foodways on Tuesday, July 14, 2026, from 5:00 to 8:00 pm at the Nevada Humanities Program Gallery in (1017 S. 1st Street #190, Las Vegas). Visitors are invited to stop by and share a zine or recipe card of their own and help Nevada Humanities build an archive of Nevada foodways stories, memories, and community.
This reception is free and open to the public. Please RSVP below to let us know that you will join us.
