Nevada Humanities presents At the Heart of Nevada: Basin and Range—a photography and video exhibition by Paula Garrett, Julian Kilker, and Checko Salgado—on display at the Nevada Humanities Program Gallery from September 4, 2025 to November 19, 2025.

Join us on Wednesday, October 8, 2025, for a reception and curators’ talk. The reception will be from 5:00 to 8:00 pm, and the curators’ talk will begin at 6:00 pm.

To commemorate the ten-year anniversary of the Basin and Range National Monument, three friends—Paula Garrett, Julian Kilker, and Checko Salgado—working with the Friends of Basin and Range National Monument curated a photography and video exhibition documenting this remote region of Nevada, one located several hours by car north of Las Vegas, Nevada. The Basin and Range National Monument was created by Presidential Proclamation on July 10, 2015, because of its unique geologic, natural, cultural, and scientific resources and values.

This event is free and open to the public. Let us know you are interested in attending.

This exhibition at the Nevada Humanities Program Gallery is supported by Nevada Humanities’ generous donors.
