Join the Humanities Center at Great Basin College and Nevada Humanities on Friday, January 30, 2026 from 2:00 to 3:00 pm as we celebrate Antoinette Cavanaugh and the launch of her new bilingual Shoshone/English language children’s book Tammi’ tetevini, “Ne Hakannai Kimmakkante?” (Little Brother asks, 'Where Did I Come From?").
The book launch and author talk will take place at Great Basin College’s Leonard Center for Student Life, with refreshments provided by Temoke Diabetes Center.
This event is free and open to the public.
Antoinette Cavanaugh is a PhD candidate in the Human Development and Family Science program in the College of Education at the University of Nevada, Reno. She was born in Owyhee, Nevada and is a member of the Shoshone-Paiute Tribes of the Duck Valley Indian Reservation. She holds a BA in Secondary Education from Boise State University, and both an MA in Educational Leadership & Higher Education and an MS in Human Development and Family Science from UNR.
