Join Nevada Humanities Program Manager Kathleen Kuo in conversation with writer and narrative game designer Ashley Warren on Thursday, November 20, 2025 from 12 to 2 pm for a livestreamed Humanities at Play program. Using real life examples from NASA and other sources with education as their focus, we will discuss how tabletop role-playing games have been used to teach history, science, and other critical skills in the classroom and beyond.

Ashley Warren is an award-winning writer and narrative designer who has developed, produced, and co-authored numerous bestselling titles for Dungeons & Dragons including the Uncaged Anthology series, Icewind Dale: Rime of the Frostmaiden, Heckna!, and Legendlore. She serves as the director of the Storytelling Collective, a global online writing program for independent creative storytellers. Ashley is best known for her immersive, atmospheric storytelling that she lends to both games and fiction, and she is passionate about exploring themes of culture, identity, and folklore in her work. She holds a Masters in Literacy Studies from the University of Nevada-Reno.
